Mediterranean Magic: A Greek-Inspired Wedding Day at Hogarths Stone Manor
When The Wedding House invited me as a Hogarths Stone Manor wedding photographer to capture their Greek-inspired styled shoot, I knew we were in for something unique. Set against the backdrop of one of Worcestershire's most picturesque venues, this Mediterranean-themed collaboration brought together pale blues, crisp whites, and zesty lemons for a fresh take on wedding styling.
What made this photo shoot even more delightful was the inclusion of two adorable furry friends who added genuine joy to every frame—proving that not all dogs need to stay home on the big day!
The Wedding Day Begins: Morning Preparations at Hogarths Stone Manor
The day began in Stone Manor's elegant Garden Room, where I captured Sarah's bridal preparations with talented makeup artist Aimee from The Hyde Bridal Salon.
As a wedding photographer who's photographed weddings in various settings, there's still something magical about documenting those quiet moments before a bride steps into her gown. Sarah radiated natural beauty as Aimee crafted her look for this special day.
Meanwhile, the Wedding House styling team transformed the Garden Room with their meticulous attention to detail. The wedding coordinator arranged four tables with a Mediterranean-inspired tablescape: white linens, fresh lemons, elegant candles, and beautiful stationery from Weddings by Kathy B.
This setting created an atmosphere that transported us straight to Greece, with subtle nods to Greek cuisine through the citrus accents and blue color palette that would delight any guests attending such a gorgeous celebration.
Four-Legged Friends: When Fur Babies Join Your Wedding Day
One of the day's highlights was welcoming our special guests: Meg, an elegant greyhound, and Red, an adorable sausage dog, courtesy of Flossy & James Dog Sitting Service. As a dog lover, I thought photographing these pups wearing their cute bow ties was a great idea that added joy and spontaneity to our shoot!
Once Sarah was dressed in her stunning gown from TDR Bridal Birmingham, we ventured into Hogarths Stone Manor's expansive 26-acre grounds. This venue offers perfect opportunities for any family considering including their pooch in wedding photos.
Walking through woodland paths and manicured gardens with the dogs, bride, and groom (Lee, looking sharp in a suit from Heaphys Menswear) created those natural, cuddle-filled moments I love to capture as a wedding photographer—genuine smiles and relaxed interactions that tell an authentic story. For many couples, these fur babies are like family, and including them is essential to documenting their special day.
Wedding Ceremony & Reception: Mediterranean Feast in the Walled Garden
The Wedding House team outdid themselves in the venue's charming walled garden, creating a rustic feasting table that embodied Mediterranean elegance. Perfect for a wedding ceremony followed by an intimate reception, the setup featured wooden bench seating, pale blue accents, fresh lemons, and flickering candles set against ancient stone walls.
The catering service could efficiently serve Greek cuisine here, perhaps featuring grilled vegetables and other Mediterranean dishes. As a photographer, these meticulously crafted details gave me endless opportunities for creative photos that capture the essence of a Greek-inspired celebration.
Capturing Your Wedding Day: Sweet Treats and Refreshing Moments
Adding to the sensory delights, Daisy & Co. set up a vintage ice cream tricycle serving delicious treats (the café latte flavor was particularly divine!). For a summer wedding, this would be a fun surprise for guests. Capturing Sarah and Lee enjoying these sweet moments together—ice cream cones in hand, laughter on their faces—embodied the joy and lightheartedness every wedding day should have. Even the pups seemed to hope for a taste!
Meg from Hogarths Stone Manor's banqueting team gave us a delicious lunch—a welcome break before we continued with more creative setups. The wedding ceremony area in the walled garden, dressed with Mediterranean-inspired floral arrangements by Bluebells Floristy with touches of orange and lemon, provided another beautiful backdrop for portraits. As a wedding photographer who's worked at this venue multiple times, I can confirm that the grounds offer endless opportunities to capture special moments between friends and family throughout the big day.
Evening Wedding Photography: Celebrations and Creative Magic
As the day progressed, we moved to cocktails in the bar, creating elegant lifestyle images that showcase how Hogarths Stone Manor can transition seamlessly from day to evening celebrations. Perfect for a corporate event or wedding reception, this space allows guests to relax while the newlyweds take a moment's rest.
The photo shoot culminated in those magical evening moments I particularly love capturing as a wedding photographer—confetti showers as the couple "got married," dramatic smoke bombs, and an exhilarating champagne spray that perfectly captured the celebratory spirit of a wedding day. These are the joyful moments when friends and family celebrate together, and my style of wedding photography aims to preserve these memories authentically.
Hogarths Stone Manor Wedding Photographer: A Final Touch of Greek-Inspired Drama
For our final creative portrait, Sarah bravely volunteered for something unique—a milk bath in the bridal suite adorned with floating lemons. This striking image brought together the Greek theme, bridal beauty, and artistic vision for an elegant and imaginative photograph. As a wedding photographer at Hogarths Stone Manor, I'm always looking for distinctive moments to photograph that will make your wedding photos truly memorable.
