The Granary Hotel - Kidderminster Wedding
A beautiful wedding at The Granary Hotel, Kidderminster.
It was a day filled with genuine emotion and love.
Kirsty & Shaun
Kirsty and Shaun married at The Granary Hotel, near Kidderminster, Worcestershire, in march 2022. I was delighted to be chosen as their Wedding Photographer. It was my first visit to the granary hotel as a wedding photographer. Danielle accompanied me as my second shooter and assistant. It was an absolute joy to spend the day with such a lovely couple. The venue has recently been refurbished with a newly built wedding house and beautiful freshly landscaped gardens with the classic pagoda.
Granary Hotel Wedding Photography
The day started with some getting ready wedding photos, I loved this part of the day. It is a great time to get to know the wedding party a bit better and share and photograph the emotions of the morning. The Granary Hotel has recently been working on the wedding house for guests to get ready in and stay at; although not quite finished, the upstairs rooms were lovely and decorated nicely. Kirsty and her three bridesmaids, along with her mom, had hair and makeup done by Amelia Bourne and Vicky Jefferies.
During the wedding day I like to photograph the day as it happens in a documentary story telling style but with a bit of creativity. I think wedding photography needs to be as unintrusive as possible but sometimes needs a little direction and planning to create those magical moments as they happen. As part of the morning, I try to capture the details, the flowers, rings, shoes, dresses and any special items that need photographing.
The Granary Hotel wedding house rooms have been nicely decorated, some with four poster beds, ideal for hanging the dress and photographing in a little bit of window light.

The Groom and the groomsmen arrived at lunchtime for a quick stop on the way to the pub over the road for a few pre-wedding drinks. Shaun, the groom, being a passionate Welshman was dressed in a full Welsh Kilt with his groomsmen in black tie attire. The Welsh Dragon Kilt was from Dyfed Menswear, Newport, Wales.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the newly landscaped garden for group and confetti photos. I like to get through this part of the day as quickly as possible so guests can enjoy their day. I usually have a nominated helper from each family side to prepare the next group photo. After the group photos, we went to the Pagoda for some couples’ wedding photos with the bride, groom and videographer.
